Q.  How often should I have my home cleaned?
A.  Your ideal cleaning regimen depends on a variety of factors including the size of your home, your lifestyle and of course your budget. The most common regimen consists of regular bi-weekly service, although many of our clients are able to maintain cleanliness with monthly service. Busier households may require weekly or more frequent service. We generally recommend a deep-cleaning at least once or twice a year, such in the spring and fall. We can create a customized approach based on rotational cleaning to maximize effectiveness within virtually any budget. Q.  Are you insured and bonded?
A.  Yes. We maintain adequate insurance to cover all areas of our business, including general liability, product liability, and automobile insurance. As an employer we maintain workers compensation and disability insurance for our employees in the event they are injured on the job or become unable to work to due to medical reasons. We also maintain a janitorial service bond which provides indemnity for employee theft, fraud or dishonesty. Together, these policies provide financial protection for our clients, our employees, and the general public.

Q.  Are your services guaranteed?
A.  Yes, we offer a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. In delivering our services we strive to maintain the highest quality and provide the greatest value. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your EcoMaids experience, simply contact us within 24 hours of your cleaning and let us know where we went wrong. We’ll come back at your convenience and re-clean any deficiencies free of charge. We do not currently offer a money-back guarantee.

Q.  Who do you send to clean my home?
A.  EcoMaids cleaning technicians are employees of our company. We do not utilize independent contractors. Our hiring process begins with a detailed employment application submitted through our website. We scrutinize each candidate and select for the interview process only those eligible to work in the United States and possessing the requisite skills, experience, and references. We verify all application information and perform credit, motor vehicle, and criminal background checks prior to hiring.

Q.  How many people will clean my home?
A.  EcoMaids performs the majority of its routine cleaning services using a team of two cleaning technicians. Most of our deep-cleaning services involve a team of three cleaning technicians. Our housekeeping services and some routine cleaning services for apartments and smaller homes may involve an individual cleaning technician.

Q.  Will I always have the same cleaning technician(s)?
A.  If you receive regularly scheduled routine cleaning service on a bi-weekly or greater frequency, we will ensure you receive the same cleaning team each visit, or at least one of the same team members in the event of an employee absence. You’ll get to know our cleaning technicians, and they’ll become familiar with your home and your cleaning preferences. Unlike other services, with EcoMaids you don’t have to worry about a stream of people coming through your home.

Q.  How long does it take to clean my home?
A.  It depends on the size of your home, the type of service being performed, and the overall level of cleanliness Deep-clean services can take up to twice as long as a routine cleaning. Q.  Do I have to be home during the cleaning?
A.  No. In fact, many of our clients prefer us to clean when they’re out of the house. We do ask that you be present for the first cleaning, so that you can meet our cleaning technicians, show them around your home, and make them aware of any cleaning preferences or special requests you may have. Other than that, whether you’re home or not when we clean is entirely up to you.

Q.  How do I arrange access for you if I’m not home?
A.  We suggest one of the following methods of arranging access, but we can accommodate virtually any arrangement that is convenient for you:

  • Provide us with a key to keep in our key safe
  • Leave a key for us in a specific location
  • Provide us with a code for your garage door
  • Leave a door unlocked
  • Leave a key with a neighbor or building manager

Q.  Do I have to provide any cleaning equipment or supplies?
A.  No. EcoMaids equips its cleaning technicians with all the tools, equipment and products to effectively complete each job. We provide the vacuums, mops, dusting equipment, cleaning cloths, and cleansers, so you don’t have to worry about purchasing anything or having other people use your stuff. Plus, we maintain strict guidelines to ensure all our equipment and products meet various green cleaning certification standards.

Q.  Is there anything I should do to prepare for my cleaning?
A.  You’d be amazed by how many people we encounter who are afraid their homes are too dirty to have cleaned by somebody else. We believe that when you hire a professional to clean your home, you shouldn’t have to “pre-clean”. We’re ready, willing and able to come into virtually any environment and make it sparkle. So don’t be embarrassed by the level of cleanliness of your home – whatever the condition, we promise we’ve seen worse! Just let us know what to expect and we’ll plan accordingly. If you’d like to help us be more efficient, feel free to pick up any clutter such as dirty clothing, toys, paperwork, etc. prior to our arrival. However we’ll gladly organize these items as we clean – should you expect anything less from a premium cleaning service?

Q. What are your service hours?
A. Our pick-up and delivery hours are Monday – Friday between 8:00am and 8:00pm. We can make arrangements to pick-up or deliver orders at specific times, such as in conjunction with our cleaning service visits.

Q. How long does it take to complete my order?
A. Our standard turnaround time is 48 hours from the time of pick-up. We will make every effort to return your laundry as quickly as possible, and next day delivery is not uncommon. We also offer guaranteed same-day service for an additional charge. Call or email us for more information.

Q. How should I prepare my laundry for pick-up?
A. Gather your garments in any type of container you desire, such as laundry bags, totes, baskets, or even trash bags. Please make sure that your name is clearly printed on each container you provide to us. Make sure to let us know about any special preferences or instructions when contacting us, or by including written instructions inside one of your garment containers.

Q. Do I need to separate my garments?
A. Don’t worry about separating whites from colors – we’ll take care of that on our end. We do require you to separate any items you desire to have ironed, such as shirts and pants, from the regular wash & fold garments, and to include instructions with these items.

Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. We accept cash, check, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), and PayPal. We must keep a valid credit card on file at all times. Payment is due at the time of pick-up unless other billing arrangements are made in advance.

Q.  What is your cancellation policy?
A.  Our teams dispatch early each morning, and every evening we confirm our routes and prepare our vehicles and equipment for the next day. In order to maintain efficiency and in consideration of our employees’ schedules, we require 24 hours notice for all cancellations. If you need to cancel or reschedule a cleaning for any reason, simply call or email us. Cancellations received less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled arrival time are subject to a $25.00 cancellation charge. If we do not receive any notice of a cancellation or if we are unable to gain access to your home, we reserve to right to charge the full amount of the scheduled cleaning service.

Q.  What is your policy concerning gratuities?
A.  Our cleaning technicians take pride in their work and provide top quality service out of respect for their company and its clients.  Although gratuities are certainly appreciated, they are not required or expected. Any gratuities may be given directly to your cleaning technician(s) or included in your payment.

Q.  Do you provide references?
A.  Yes. We have many satisfied customers who would be delighted to share details about their EcoMaids experience with you. Simply ask and we’ll email you a list of references and contact information.

Q.  Can I hire one of your maids directly to perform cleaning or any other services?
A.  We invest significant resources recruiting, hiring, and training our employees in order to consistently provide the highest quality service to our clients. Our employees have entered into non-compete agreements which prohibit them from, among other things, providing services to our clients outside the scope of their employment with us. Should you wish to hire a current or previous EcoMaids employee for any home-related service outside of your relationship with our company, we charge a referral fee of $3,500. This fee is due within thirty days of notification from EcoMaids. We ask that you refrain from soliciting our employees directly – please contact us should you wish to discuss such an arrangement.
